my Bali Monster got OWNED!

So I came home from work today. Plugged in my OM 4-way. Plugged in my Sequence Hammer Head and WOOOOSH!!! I see this brown blob come shooting out of my CL and fly half way across my tank!!! AHAHAHA The SOB took off like the proverbial bat out of hell

Mine has been kicking a-s-s and taking names. A must get if you have any hair algae or bryopsis.

What's a "Bali Monster", and what do you mean it "got OWNED"? I thought YOU owned it?

I've been trying to wrap my feeble brain around the naming and ID of things lately, so when someone points into my tank and asks, "What's that?", I can say something other than "Why... It's green!".

All this "Alien UFO turbo weedwhacker Packer-Basher" frags stuff drives me nuts when I'm trying to figure it all out. Perhaps I'm all alone in this. It sure feels like it.

Imagine this, but 100% brown

They are awesome at eating hair algae. It has done wonders for my poor 220. It's about 4-5 inches in legnth. Looks like poo and blends in real well with LR that isn't covered in coraline.

Saying something got Owned is like saying it got it's arse kicked

I know how you feel. When I first got into reefs 10 years or so ago the names of all the corals and other forms of marine life seemed bewildering, but in time, especially as you get to know the various organisms from having them live in your tank, the names become as familiar as "dog" and "cat".

I was away from the forum completely for about a year, and when I came back I found everyone talking about "Lords" and Echinos". These had just become popular, but I had never heard of them. It felt a bit like I was in Twilight Zone eposode or something.

(I too was wondereing about the "Owned" thing...sort of figured it out, but was not quite sure!)

I guess I didn't get it either, Bali monster I thought was some Acropora frag. I imagined it shooting across the tank like a torpedo. Hence the calcium reactor comment that probably didn't make much sense.....
