MRC Calcium Reactor FOR...SOLD!!!

I no longer will have use for this unit. It is a MyReef Creations Dual Nano Reactor in use since September '03. It is in perfect condition, and I even have two new extra 3/8" covers that will be included-the 1/4" originally supplied are working just fine.

You can find more info on the reactor here at Andy's website:
http://www.myreefcreations.com/main.html (then calcium reactors on the navigation bar)

Size recommendations are not provided but for reference the dual nano holds 6# media and his standard size single chamber reactor-rated for 300g tanks-holds 7#. These size recommendations are very arbitrary however and a direct comparison between dual and single chamber designs can't really be made (as the second chamber typically only "mops up" excess CO2 thereby raising pH, Ca 2+ and CO3 2- but less so than the first chamber). A small reactor can meet the demands of a large system but with more frequent replacement of media and increased CO2 injection. Realistically this reactor is probably best-suited for a 75 or similar volume tank.

I purchased the unit new from Andy with his CO2 package (Blueline Regulator/solenoid/needle valve-all one unit) and mag 2 recirc pump. To feed the reactor i will include a minijet 606-which works great. Purchased new everything was $330 (plus minjet, ARM media, flex vinyl hose and other lil things you won't need to purchase). I believe his price has gone up some since then too.

I will accept offers for the reactor alone (with both pumps-all you would need is CO2 regulator and CO2 bottle)
OR the reactor+CO2 regulator unit (all you would need is CO2 bottle).

I'd love for it to find a good local home and i'm thinking $250 OBO including the reg would be reasonable. Obviously less without the CO2 Regulator unit. Here's a pick and links to a couple threads with picks

EDIT-not the sump-the reactors on the LEFT!

Just got off the phone-SOLD!!! (but thanks for taking the time to look!)

a couple reasons i'm switching (not getting out of the reactor biz):
#1 the korallin 1502 takes up about 1/4 the floor space as my myreef-and will more than likely fit right in my sump-saving me 100% of the myreef space (which could be used for a refugium or a mini racetrack grow out tank-seen JB NY's setup over at RC?)
#2 the korallin is more efficient energy (prolly~25% of the myreef) and CO2-wise-prolly gonna be at less than 10bpm of CO2 and for whatever reason the myreef takes about 3x this amount.
#3 my aquacontroller (the unit itself is fine its my darned coiled wires and crowded outlets i think) is inadvertently opening my solenoid even when the pH in the tank is low (set point <8.15). AGAIN (and derek you'll be happy to know i tried the ferite ring) i can't account for the causative agent and i'm worried about actually way overshooting and lowering the tank pH too much. the korallin's use much less CO2 and are supposedly very efficient at dissolving that which is used-hopefully preventing that low pH problem. And excess undissolved CO2 in the reactor will airlock the recirc pump (the eheim then alarms and shuts down) also interupting the potentially dangerous event. i like these fail-safe features-and would like to wean myself off of the aquacontroller as it really is overkill. i may just use a solenoid for turning off the CO2 in the event of a power failure. at this point the aquacontroller would be reduced to a pH monitor, an expensive light timer, and a dual stage temp controller (or as i use it now-a backup off switch in case the ebo thermostat sticks).

i've been thinking about this for awhile and when i stumbled upon a post about korallin's it struck me as a great solution.
