Monster crab SCOOOOOOORE!!!!!!
I have a monster crab in my tank origin unknown he has big blacked tipped claws. Every time I see him he keeps getting bigger. I have one of his molts which is dime size but now his molt would be half-dollar size.
Last night I saw him pulling the polyps off my SPS and eating them like popcorn. I saw him again tonight so I baited a #10 fly hook with frozen Krill and 8# test line. I had him hooked in about 30 seconds flat. He put up one heck of a fight for the next ten minutes before I lost him in the rock work. I'm keeping the water boiling and the butter melted for the next time I see him.

A good side effect of dosing the tank with interceptor for the SPS little red bugs is that crabs get wasted. I had a hairy black one that got it with the sps dose. Downside of course is if you have good crabs they will be gone too..... Cleaner shrimp don't seem to be effected but also does wipe out some of your pod population as well ( not 100% )......

Heck, I'd leave him in there and go "Fishing" whenever you get the urge. You could throw him in the sump if you don't want him picking on the locals.
Great story. Post a pick if you can.

Scooooooooore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Score one for the Old Man And The Sea. This SOB has been slowly eating all the polyps off my Monti's since I first saw him in November. Back then I went fishing for him with hook and line and hooked him twice in two days but he threatened to topple my rock work. Tonight I was on my way to bed and there he was in my frag tray. I was going to stab him but decided to take him alive which was almost a mistake, shell we say he put up a fight and almost won. Boy he really has done a lot of damage in eight months.

LOOK AT THE MEAT HOOKS ON HIM!!!!

Sometimes things happen just a day to late. Sunday morning Haus Cartwright our Lawnmower Blennie was no more. I have no proof but suspected the crab had got him in the night. There was no body and he was a big loveable guy thus the name. We will really miss the kiss marks on the glass he was a favorite RIP.
