MH wiring help

I will soon be replacing my Advance 175W magnetic ballasts to 250W Coralvue electronic ballasts. I also have an electronic VHO ballast wired in the mix. My canopy has seperate plug-ins/switches for each of the MH bulbs. I am no electrician, but don't figure rewiring would be too difficult. Anyone with experience have any info, tips on where wires go, etc. Sure would be nice to see an online DIY project that showed this. Thanks for any help.

Super easy as there is no postive or negative specific wires from the ballast to the moguls for MH. They are interchangeable........As long as you can identify the wires for the power then that's all you need to know.....Generally the electronics come in there own case or don't need a case. Sounds like your wanting to put them in your existing enclosure and may not fit.

I use a soldering iron and heat shrink, but you could just as easily use the skrew caps. Also what I like are the little plastic wire clips that have a sticky side. Just putt of the paper and stick it to something and it will keep your wiring in place.

Perhaps a stupid question, but how many wires for power, and is there an industry standard color for each wire that goes ? ie black/neg, red/pos, etc.

black/neg, red/pos, green/ground, Easy as it looks, should be color coded an both the ballast and the plu-in wire.

Power is usually the black / white(or red ) / green wires, just follow the power cord as they are usually wound/shielded together coming into the enclosure.
