Melafix/Instant Ocean Lifeguard

I have a blue tang in my 30G soft tank who is not doing well. He seems to have Ick and mouth rot. He has had Ick since I bought him about a month ago. Can I use Instant Ocean Lifeguard or Melafix in a softy tank if not is there any treatment I can use in a softy tank. My other fish in this tank seem fine. Thanks

A 30 gallon is WAY too small for a tang of any kind. I hope you can find a larger home for him.

Supposedly you can use both at the same time (Melafix and Primafix for best results. Melafix when used really bothers fish, especially when they have wounds or ich scratches. When I use Primafix it helped with fungus and ich for me. However, when I used Primafix it did help with at the expense of added stress. I forgot to mention I did add it to a tank with sps, lps, and it kinda harmed my choco chip stars.

I used Instant Ocean Lifeguard in my qt tank to treat my clowns with ich and it did a great job. I will definitely use it again. I also used some melafix after that.
