Maxijet Suction cups.. JUNK!

Anyone else have problems with the suction cups on thier maxjet pumps? The suction cups on a couple of my pumps are now virtually worthless. I keep coming home to a sand storm.

i think all suction cup wearout pretty fast in salt water, thats why people glue their powerheads to magnets.

Sucky situation

The old MJ suction cups were pretty good until they are taken off the glass. After the first or second time you pry them off they seem to not work as well after.
The new ones are thinner, not as large.....not as good period
Need to find the newer ones....

sls, could you tell me more about the magnet solution? I like that idea. What type of magnet do people use?

there is a low profile magfloat type cleaning magnet that people use, cant remember the brand though maybe someone will chime in. you just super glue the part that goes in the tank to your powerhead and there you go.

has anyone tried using rare earth magnets? I'm just worried they will be too strong and mess the pump it's self up.

Suctions cups don't suck, they blow!
