LR w/sponge useful in main display?

I have a pice of LR the size of a softball with 1 huge sponge on it. Is there anything benificial to these in a display tank? It's goldenrod color, I've had it in my sump ever since I got it but thinking maybe I should move it elsewhere.

Just nothing purty too look at.

I like sponge in the main display tank. Adds some color and varity. Just be careful and try to not to expose the sponge to the air when moving it from the sump to the main tank. (If you decide to use it.)

It's just a beneficial in the sump as the show since it is all in the same water column. Personal choice really, if you the looks of it and want to enjoy it in the show tank then go for it.

While there are some sponges that are really sensitive to air exposure, typically those that came with LR are very hardy and fine to be exposed. After all it survived the LR getting shipped. I've taken rock out with the white and yellow sponges and sit on the floor for hour or more during aquascaping put it back in with no ill effects.
