Looking for Hamilton 175W 10K bulb. . .

Short of getting it online, does anyone local have one I could purchase for a reasonable price? I checked Something Fishy, and they want double what I could get it online for. I may possiblly have a bad new bulb and need to do some testing. Even if someone has one with half it's life spent would be OK. I am in need of one pretty quick.
p.s. I would like to eliminate my ballast as the culprit, so short of switching around bulbs, is there any sure way of testing if the ballast is at fault? I mean, does the ballast act a certain way, or does it just not operate? They are only a little over 1 year old (magnetic). The bulb isn't firing up right away when the ballast supplies it power. After about 5-10 minutes it starts to light up, then another minute later or so it no longer will be lit. It will go throught this process for about an hour or so. It will take about 1.5 hours before it will actually stay lit. These are new bulbs, and the other bulb functions perfectly.

Switch the bulbs, then switch the fixtures. If it's the bulb, send Dirk a pm.

To expand on Tico comments, once you have switched ballast, bulbs then swith the mogul to see if the issue follows the socket which may need adjusting. Every bulb may be a little slightly different and may not be making real good contact with the mogul.

I have had this happen years ago exactly as you described.......When I called Hamiliton this is what they basically told me.....

Your mogul made need adjusting to make sure it stays in good contact with the bulb.

Turn the ballast off and take the bulb out. When you do you will see a little adjustment screw inside the mogul. Adjust this to make sure the piece that touches the end of the bulb makes good contact.

Also, can go to HomeDepot or Menards and pick up some socket lubricant. This will help make better contact and easier the tighten the bulb all the way. Costs less then $1.

Also, If a new bulb and the above is not the case, usually will lessen as the bulb gets more broken in. Give it a couple of weeks can correct itself.

Off all the years of running MH in many different wattages etc. and all the different brands of bulbs the Hamiliton was the only one that ever had this happen to me......
