Live Rock Questions

When I lived in my apartment, I was curing live rock in a Rubbermaid Brute Garbage Can for about 7 months. When we moved into our house in May of this year, I moved the Live Rock in the container and put it in a corner in the basement with a mag pump (for heat and circulation), covered it and let it sit until now. I've checked it a few times and and everything looked fine, most of the coraline algae bleached as was expected. The rock does not really have an odor.

My question is besides some organism seeding, would the rock still have it's benefitial bacteria still intact lessing my tank cycle time? I'm thinking it would, but I wanted to seek some other opinions.

Thanks!

I would expect it to be live. But give it a chance to mini cycle again after getting everything set up and adding a little this or that.

Not that I want to hi-jack the thread but since you have discovered the answer to your question I have a question with the same heading.

In the last week someone set up a nano tank where they attached three pieces of live rock together to form a cool shape. I tried searching for the thread but couldn't find it. What did they use to attach the rock? Was it just super glue gel??

Take a look at David Grigor's article on aquascaping. I'm guessing that is waht you are looking for since I can't recall the thread you are referring to.
