What kind of tank do you have? The lighting you get depends heavily on what livestock you have or aspire to have.

watts doesnt mean anything. do it right. go T5HO or MH. because you can keep almost anything when these lighting setup.

29g setup is 30" long so for sure you can use 24W T5HOs. With quality reflectors and beings only 12" wide, you will be able to get 3 of them in there. On my son's 29g we just went with 2 T5s because the 3rd would overlap the overflow. With 2 days and 1 actinic T5, you should be able to keep just about anything and with a 29g being somewhat tall there would be enough distance at the bottom for some LPS/softies that don't light high light. On 20g Long for instance that is much shorter there are some corals that no matter where you put them would get too much light so the hieght will be an advantage for a community type setup.

Doubtful you will be able to get something like this used and would have to buy new. Would also need to make a custom canopy for it as well as no store bought fixture is going to work as well for your application.

If your not wanting to make a fixture, then likely a 150W HQI MH would be the best option since you can get plug and play and would work. My only issue is being a 12" wide tank you will have considerably more light spillage into the room. In rooms with a TV this can be annoying. Heat may also be more of a concern with the MH fixture .
