ksarauer check this one out....

I know this is way over due as you wanted to see one with 20's on it. His old one sold and we were waiting for the right one to do, also had a little more fun with it to . These are 20" wheels but they have a all season tire on them and it makes them look smaller than they appear. I was not crazy about a all season tire on this wheel but the owner is the one writing the check.

Also decided to put a eclipse head unit in it that is completelly touchscreen for navigation, dvd,hd radio, sirius radio etc. Installed a rear back up camera from eclipse and sirius radio.

Also had some clarion monitors installed in the headrests.

And what SUV is not complete with out this? Any one care to watch a little DTV at 75mph?

And the Directv dish mounted on top

Going to fab some new brackets to move the dish closer to the roofline so it is not sticking up so high and has a more flush look to it.

Curious, So does this mean another $50 monthly bill from Directv or is it discounted if you have a home dish too.....

IMO: You'd have to spend an awful lot of time in your car or just have money to throw around to be worth it. Also, If you do spend that much time in your SUV, I'd hate to see the gas bill......

Nope it sits like that at all times. Inside it has hundreds of little antennas that will rotate accordingly to pick up the signal. Then a special lense bends the signal to hit more of the antennas giving it a stronger signal.

David it is just $4.99 a month to add it to your current bill. Just like adding another receiver. Our owner spends a lot of time in his vehicle he lives about three hours north of here and makes the commute two times a week. Plus it is great for a family that takes alot of road trips. Silencing the little ones for a five hour drive with the cartoon network on is priceless.

I found it on the web, it uses a phased array. Pretty slick to see that kind of technology in consumer products now. I believe that started in aircraft radar so they didn't have to keep swinging a dish back and forth inside the nose. I could see the weather channel and news being really handy to have in the car. Wonder how it fares for signal penetration through clouds compared to fixed dish setups.

Can't say I like the big rim style though, maybe 18" 's.

I was pleasantly surpirsed with the signal strength. Clouds have no impact on it the only time signal cuts out is on going under a overpass or a tight street with heavy trees.
