Kinda OT: Need small powerfull heater and pump
This is kinda OT but what the heck: A friend of mine is putting on a corn feed for his church and wants to build a "butter fountain". He is looking for a heater that is able to heat about 1 to 1.5 gallons of butter to about 105 degrees, and a small pump to make a fountian. All of the heaters I look at have a cut-off of about 90 degrees. As for the pump would a small maxi-jet work? (New, of course.)
Any ideas would be great. BTW, I think liquid butter is flamible, think this is a problem?

I would try and find butter that is liquid at a lower temp, like popcorn machine butter, that stuff is liquid at around 90 degrees or even lower. I'll ask my wife (she's worked on different types of butter for landolakes clients, specifically butter that is liquid at different temps.)

There's an idea, Imagine how easy it would be buttering corn on the cob? Just hold the cob under the butter fountain kids....

Thanks for all your help. Honestly, I don't know if he will make this work.

I forgot, you work in a Seafood resturant. You should know a little about melted butter!

Wait a minute, I just thought about the sterno some more. Open flame, melted butter, the Fire Marshal might not like that!

sterno is made for heating food up. thats like its only use . sure the fire marshal wont care . i think the butter would have to be extremely hot to start a fire.
off the top of my head i cant think of any other ways to do it ..... um well you could clarify the butter so it stays liquid at even room temp.
any reason he needs it to be 110 rather than 90 ? i think if it was 90 and circulating though your pump it would work .
