James Fatherree (of TFH) will be giving MAS talk in March

I just got an e-mail from Randy Carey, who organizes speakers for the Minnesota Aquarium Society. The speaker for the March meeting is James Fatherree. I am not familar with this speaker myself, but Randy tells me that he writes the reef column for Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine.

Randy will be forwarding me more information about the talk when he has more info, and I will post this here. All I know at the moment is that James will be talking about giant clams.

The talk is Thursday, March 2, but James will be around for another day or two.

Randy asked if I could show him around Friday night (March 3). Would any of you with really cool reef tanks be willing to host a visit by James? Maybe we could do a little tour of a few of your tanks? (maybe we would need to decide which tanks to visit in part based on location and ease of travel between tank visitation sites?). Let me know if any of you would be willing to host a short visit.

Randy also asked if I could host a get together the morning of Saturday March 4, which I can probably do.

Thank you for your willingness to do this, even if your location is not practical for this.

Anyone else interested in showing off your tank?

I used to read Tropical Fish Hobbyist all the time when I was a kid, but I have not read it much at all for many years, so I was not familiar with James Fatherree. I found his web site though:

http://www.fatherree.com/james/

Incidentally, I did buy a TFH magazine or two this Fall, and appears it has been pretty much transformed from the old days. It seems to be a better magazinne now than it used to be.
