Mine has never hurt a thing and can't remeber ever hearing of one hurting a coral. Sure he is not picking at algae on the coral?

melev (from RC and also here now) had a hepatus tang like yours that developed a taste for SPS polyps, so it is possibly for yours to do so as well.

We had to sell a 3-4" Blue Tang (Dorey) because it developed a liking of our Candy Cane coral. Was hard to spot at first. The polyps were just recessed and would never open. Had to observe the tank for several days before we caught it. Gave the disclaimer before selling - "enjoys eating LPS", hehe.

Tried several things with Dorey - feeding more often, feeding different foods, feeding more food. Nothing stopped its picking on the candy canes. Hence the sale. We ended up buying a smaller one (2-3") the same day from another member...no problems with the new one so far, and it has probably been a year or so now.

Ryan.
