Ick(white spot)

Does anyone know how to get rid of ick in a reef tank? I have been using Ick Attack 100% organic reef safe herbals and no luck. I have tried to catch the fish to do a freshwater bath and too much live rock, corals and hiding spots to catch them even with a clear cup. I have no hospital tank either. Any ideas?

Get a cleaner Wrasse and UV. The cleaner wrasse are awesome. I have a powder blue tang and my wrasse keeps him ich free.

I would try to trap the fish, and do hypo in a hospital tank. I am sure someone in the club has a cheap/free tank you could get running right away.

Set up a hospital tank, it's fairly inexpensive to do. Then read up on Hyposalinity.

Are you sure you have ICk? How many fish are in the tank and do other fish have it?

Shouldn't have scared your fishes like that. What I did with mine was feed them at the top and snatchem' with a net from behind. Works wonders not to mention saving you the trouble of tearing down your tank.

Take an old charger to a cell phone, and cut the plug off of the end so the bare wires are exposed, then plug the other end into an electrical outlet, and drop the bare wires into your tank. VHOLA!!! ICK BE GONE!

I agree with the above, I always feed all the fish brine soaked in garlic extreme for at least 30 mins when a new fish is introduced. I added 2 tangs a little while back and no ich. I also have a cleaner that hops on there back and goes to work...

Most of the fish died two jawfish, two clowns, chromis and a goby. I only have a few left. I am doing garlic and cleaner shrimp. So far I am only able to catch a Sailfin tang to do a fresh water bath. He seems better today, but he looks really bad, fins are shredding and he is losing color. I have a royal gramma and chromis left and they are too fast and hide in caves. I'm thinking of just repeating the freshwater baths and trying uv. I haven't added any new fish ever. These all came with the tank a year ago.

the fresh water bath is useless. the ick growth under deep into the skin layer/
i think the more stress u put on the tang the worse of the ick will get... if i were u i will release the tang, and keep feedin garlic, let it take care itself.

This is hard too do but take all fish out for 5 weeks and the ick life cycle will do it self in. Then add one fish every three weeks. The ick will not get out of balance. I learned this in april on trt and no ick since.
