Ich-y eyes

I just got home from a 6 day trip. My sister fed and checked on my tank while I was away. My hippo with Ich still has it. His eyes are cloudy and look like then have a layer to peel off or something. Other than that he is active and eating like a little piggy. I sure hope this clears up soon. I'm just maintaining as best I can. I think I will try some opera music with the garlic today.

It is good you had her feed! I know they say you can let fish go a few days w/o food but when they are battling ich (and recovering) you need to really pamper them with the garlic dosed food.

If it has gone on this long, It's time to take more drastic measures ( if it's not too late already ).....

Get it out of the tank and start treating in a quarantine situation....

Ich is an easy disease to treat - all you have to do is QT and use either hypo or copper.

Copper and hyposal are proven treatments. Garlic, OTOH, is more along the lines of a herbal rememdy, with no proven, only anecdotal, evidence.

I have tried to catch him a few times. He has way too many places to hide, which as you know, they easily do at the first sign of human intervention. I hate to empty my tank...which i did 2 months ago because of an naughty Flame Angel. I'll keep trying. Maybe I am just being a wuus about it. (hmmm, how do you spell wuus?) Keep the input coming, I need it.
