I think its frogspawn...

ok I will get you all a picture by tonight, but it looks to be very small fag of forgspawn. Its about as big around as a pen cap, and white/clear on the bottom, and bright neon green ontop. It looks very soft (haven't touched it) but it looks VERY cool, and would love to see it bloom.

Main question is, how should I care for it? How strong of lighting should it be under? I have it close to the top now under MH lights. how do the spread? should I have lots of flow or not so much? right now its kinda got some med flow.

I searched the net, and frogspawn is the closest thing I can find to what it looks like.

If anyone wants to answer these questions for me before I post my picture anyhow, as it would be good info to learn, Thanks a ton, if not, picture will be posted soon!

Post a pic. Could be a bad type of anemone. Hopefully Dirk will see your pic, he's got some that might be what you have. Anemonea?

If it's frogspawn it would be great.

For the lonest time I watched a tip that broke off my frogspawn float araound the tank for a couple of months. Eventually it form the calicum base and I glued it to a frag of rock. I just kept it at the bottom of my tank and it grew into a multi branch colony that i sold.
If it is a frog spawn it does not require intense light. Mine started out under 100w PC and did very well. With my new tank the colony is in the sandbed and off to one side somewhat doing well. I have 2x250 MH on the 92gal corner.

if its atached to a rock, leave it alone. we have a tendency to try and make everything in our tanks just perfect. and in the end all the handeling of the corals and the different changes we make end up killing the coral. i found a baby frogspawn growing right next to a cup coral. they are touching each other and the cup dont like it but they are both atached to the rock. but if i tried to move one or the other, i think it would kill both of them. i think they will work it out in the end. thats just my opinion though.

I see your point about leaving things be. I figured it needed some light though, because when I found it the rock was upside down and it was in total darkness, so I did flip it over and put it facing the lights.

But I may set it down on the ground and closer to the glass so I can see it better

until you post a pic i would be careful about giving it alot of light. it has survived this long with no light. you might have a coral that likes the dark. putting it in the light might bleach it out or kill it. i would post pics first before doing anything.

i agree that it is no frogspawn. here is what i was talking about with my frogspawn and a cup coral. if you look close at the top right you will see the frog spawn in there. there is really nothing i can do with out killing one or the other.
