CONGRATULATIONS! Now start counting. You have 18 years before she goes off to college.

Wow Graham, congrats! Girls are great, I should know I have 3 of them. When you bring her to a reef meeting as a toddler, bring lots of Polly Pockets and candy, then just park her in the corner. Works most of the time. Sometimes you gotta leave real early though... haha

If you don't know what Polly Pockets are now, just wait

Robin

Robin, wow, with all the writing on the walls at your place, I guess I just assumed you had to have a boy.

Harv, how long until you're an "empty nester?"

Thanks for all your kind words everyone!

Robin, I have no idea what Polly Pockets is...could it kill me?

Boy, the adventure has already started. She had a 3-1/2 hour crying attack last night right after a feeding. Nothing would calm her and she seemed really irritated. Being the concerned new parents, we called our hospital's Nurse Line and they said we should bring her in...just to check it out. Well, it's 2AM and we're off to the ER. We have her checked out and she's in perfect shape, so we go home (to 3 hours of sleep). Today, we had a "complimentary" nurse visit that the hospital offers about a week after delivery. The nurse asked what Chris had eaten about 5-6 hours before the flare up began. She couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary - until later she remembered she had a handful of...

Hot Tamales (the candy)

Man, you only learn the hard way, eh?
Baby's don't seem to like them in their milk...

Ahh yes, the crying in the middle of the night. There is no sound more distressing. Ugh.

My kiddo could handle the Mike and Ikes ok, but those tamales were a little too much for him.

Just wait until the poops start smelling!

Graham, next time have her mom try a shot of tequila with the tamales... It always worked for me

BTW, Polly Pockets will probably be out of style by the time Ava is old enough, but there will be something equally captivating, I'm sure: http://www.pollypocket.com/home.asp

What a sweetie!

Robin

P.S. Derek if you looked closely you would notice that much of the wall art was done in purple fingernail polish, a dead giveaway...
