I need a tang!
Anyone have a big tang or other algae grazing fish they want to sell cheap. I have a 120 gallon lighted Live rock holding tank I would like to control the algea in. Snails or hermits would also work. There are no fish in the tank so there is plenty of room for one big tang.

if it is hair algae... I would go with a couple of emerald crabs... they did an awesome job in my 30. they did so without harming any corals or any othe invert!

If you didn't find a solution yet, let me know. I have a fish you could house for awhile. I would like to get it back (maybe, depends on new tank setup), but it does need a bigger place for now and has proven itself to be an algae eater.

Nope, this would be the rabbitfish. He knows his purpose in life.

I will gladly house him for awhile and give him back bigger, fatter and healthier than before!

Trodder- This tank is full of sps frags I am growing out and can't risk the polyps getting nipped by an Emerald. There are many mixed reviews on these crabs. Thanks anyway for the suggestions.

Energy - No Problem. This guy has kept Hair, Bryopsis, and Valonia at bay in my tank. I'll be around throughout the Holiday Season, let me know when/where/how you want to make the pick up. I'm live in Ramsey and work in Maple Grove.

yup, no problem... I only have experience with them in a softie tank... No SPS. But hopefully the tang will work out great for you. Also if for some reason if you did have problems with the emerald...you may never catch him if this tank is anything like the 2 you had set up at the last meeting... I would assume it is loaded with rock since you bought the huge lot of it from Bill. Good luck with the new tank if that is in fact what it is!!!

Oh I was also wondering if you could shoot me a pm with some detailed info and maybe a little sketch or pics of your auto top-off system...I would like to know piece by piece how you set it up with the kalk top-off with the plain freshwater top-off as a fail safe.

Probably would be easier if you came over and looked at it in person. Otherwise I'll do the best I can to describe it later.
