I finally got some super cool zoo's
$6.50 in candy and pop
$40 in gas
10 hours in a car with my husband
Hitting the jackpot on zoo's & sps that Jcigars and the gang did not get: PRICELESS
Well I had to drive to Green Bay to get my hands on some zoo's and it was so worth the 10hours roundtrip drive to Gooch's Corals. I even wore my Viking sweatshirt in Packer town.
He has some of the nicest frags I have seen and he and his wife are soooo cool. We ended up staying there for 3 1/2 hours, we were like kids in a candy store. Everywhere you looked there was something else you wanted. We got about 26 frags with a few colonies too. They were sps and zoos and 2 really cool pipe organs and a few others types of coral. The zoos are colors I have not seen before and yes I did leave some for others. Scott is great to deal with and his corals look so much better in person. He doesn't use actinics or 20k radiums to take his pictures. We will definitely be getting more zoos and other corals in the future. He has a great set up and unlike a lot of LFS stores his was not hot and humid, you could barely tell you were around all of those tanks. We couldn't even smell the day old liverock that he had. Mighty nice tonga BTW. Of course I do have to go to work tomorrow so I can pay for my increasing zoo habit. Check out Gooch's site he is running a frag blow out and they are really nice ones. Some could be considered small colonies. I will try to post some pics soon.

Touchdown! I can hear the Viking horn blowing now. : )
Congratulations! Waiting anxiously for the pictures here. I've got a ton of Zoos that are muted, sort of metalic green in the middle with a metalic gold rim. Replacement bulbs are coming on Monday and additional lighting on Wednesday so after slowly introducing the additional wattage I'll post some pics as well. After grabbing a few very cool orange Zoos from Bill Capman my wife has declared their her favorite tank inhabitant. I'm not sure she is committed enough yet though to drive to Green Bay. At least this time of the year.

Thanks Todd and Tom, it wasn't that bad of a drive until we hit the snowstorm on the way back and the "detour" that cost us 40 miles Scott's place was great and he has such a nice variety. I have some super cool orange ones from Bill also, they sort of spurred this trip. Tracy asked if I was up to driving to Green Bay and showed me his web page and that was a definate yes. It was quite fun taking my winter coat off in the Perkin's restaurant in Green Bay, I think some might have choked a little on their food. A customer at Gooch's was joking that I had the nerve to wear Viking's stuff in Green Bay. I thought that was the whole point. I will try to figure out a way to get my stupid windows 98 to cooperate with my new pro shop that needs windows 2000 or newer. I might just be over at Best Buy looking for the 0 down 0 payments for a year deal. Todd maybe your sweetie will be even more interested when she sees some of the zoo's I got. They are right up there with some of the ones shown over on the zoorus forum that the zoo mafia have acquired and are trying to keep to themselves. JK they do have some nice ones pictured in the thread labeled appropriately "post some zoo pic's" show her those for now. Maybe when the weather gets better we can all make a roadtrip out of town and stop at some other stores along the way and show our Purple Pride(what's left) and strut in front of Lambeau Field.

ya know, TCMAS rule, when going out on trips to get stuff, you announce to the club, to see if anyone wants anything, if you dont you need to bring back enough for eveyone.
I ll be stopping by for my share *wink*
glad you had a good time, man I wished I could see those people choke on their cheese puffs in perkins.
my favorite team is the vikings, and any team that plays against the packers.

we did decide to go until 11 in the afternoon, thought the roads would be to slick......Clyde sounds like we rooting for the same teams!!!! We plan on making a trip out there again in a couple of weeks, hopefully somebody else can drive...We can rent a van and make a real road trip of it....After paying for gas and such it would be cheaper to have it shipped to you...Just give the Gooch a hollar and tell Tracy and Sheryl sent you.....We will let everyone know next time out..Now we know what is available!!!!!Viking favorite motto "wait till nex' year".

Thru work I can rent a suburban or mini-van for less than 20$ for the weekend usually. I just need to give them notice in advance so enterprise will have a vehicle for me. It would be so much fun to get a bunch of people and all wear Viking's stuff and take pic's in front of Lambeau Field.

I'll sign my name all over the walls of Lambeau much the same way you sign your name in the snow (the key is drink a lot of OJ and other acidic liquids!) I would be up for a raod trip one day or having this guy come down. If I had my van still I could get all of us down there on the expense of HP. We can still all get down there on the expense of HP... it's just that we will all have to fit in a Grand Prix.

Tracy/Sheryl,
How much do the frags cost at Gooch's? How many zoas per frag? I'd like to go on a roadtrip for zoanthids in my buddies Durango. I used to drive to and from Milwaukee every week anyway.
BTW, that Jcigars fella from ReefCentral has one of the best Ricordia Yumas I've seen. Check his RC avatar, and try to work out some trades with your new stock.
I also have the nicest zoanthid rock I've ever seen coming on Tuesday from www.reefermadness.com. It has 9 combos of neon green/orange/blue/pink, and has about 125 zoas. After a short grow-out time, we can swap, too.

Soltaker,
I agree!
The only reason I clicked on this thread again just now was to see if maybe there were now some photos.
(and I really like your message...those little faces holding the signs still have me laughing!)
