May 2006 Aquarium Fish Magazine page 10
other articles on the cover are american angels and shopping for fish in hong kong

The article agrees that more flow, a good skimmer, and keeping the detrius out of the water system (caught in sponges and filters) are the key to happiness. The bacteria feeds on nitrate which is a by product of uneaten food and decomposed waste. Nitrate is absorbed by the cyano before it reaches the water column, so it won't show up on your test.

and if you need it I have a 3rd seaclone you can run

Jesse. Your sandbed is not leaching it is to young for that . Give it time and it will . The bacteria you are getting is from an abundance of nutrients in the tank. Possible cause are poor skimmer, lack of water changes, or overfeeding. DON"T USE CHEMICALS TO GET RID OF IT!!!. Fix the problem, cut down on your feedings, skim more, increase the water changes and then increase the flow in areas that are abbundant with cyano. Cutting down the photoperiod seems to help also. Do that and you should be good to go my friend.
