I've got a couple, but just left one in the tank. They do knock down the flow a bit, and in a smaller tank, (I have a 75 gal), they look quite large. Other than that I have had the one in the tank around eight months with no problems, as long as you pull the snails out when they get stuck and stop it from rotating and clean it now and then.

I have two MJ1200's both with Hydorflos and I like them. They don't cut down the flow all that much, they're quiet, and they do a great job of randomizing the current. I had been thinking about a wavemaker, but these are working so well that I may add a third(I have a 75g). While they aren't tiny, they don't really stand out all that much in the upper back corners where I have them. From what I've read, they can occasionally get stuck, but it only takes a few minutes to pop them off and clean them. I've only had them running six weeks and I'm happy so far.

I was just over at JBPLAY'S and they look like the work great. I was just shopping to get one. Has anyone seen them at the LFS?

Frogbone,

Did I see one of these coming out under your rockwork from the overflow?

yep..got one in each of my overflows. However, as good as the idea was at the time, the implementation wasn't quiet thought through. In case of a power outage they siphon water from the tank. I hat to plug them inside the overflow so they are not operational anymore.
However, I really like them on maxijets. I have a couple spare ones that I might install on the backside of the tank.

I got to see them with all the other nifty products at Fosters. They certianly seem better than using a wave timer. Asuming you use 3 or more pumps on your tank, its about the same cost, less wear on your pumps from switching, more over all flow since they are on all the time.

I found a place that has them on sale for $9.99, is it OK to post the name? I don't post much and don't remember the rules.

I say post it. I have seen others do that, so it can't be too bad.

Here's the link, they are associated with LiveAquaria wich is one of the reef tank's sponsors, so I'm hoping it's Ok. If not please let me know for the future.
