How do I remove this...????

I gotta remove this power strip out of the stand so I can fit a bigger tank down here....

I am guessing on just pull it it pops off, but I don't want to break it, as I want it back on later....

Here is a picture so you know what I am talking about

The stand was made by Gary Schultz who used to be a "regular" on the boards. reefsitter has the other stand from this pair. Maybe either one of them has some ideas for you. I never really looked at how the power strips were attached when I had that stand since my sump fit in through the open end.

Yes I have the mirror image of your tank/stand. I have never attempted to remove the power bar. If someone doesn't chime in before tonight, I will look further into it.

If I remember correctly on yours, the power bar goes accross the top and only down one side. Removing the opposite side panel is not an option?

Another thought that has worked out well is lifting the sump tank an inch or so off of the base of the stand to allow slight spills to dry up versus creeping under the sump and remaining wet.

Nick,

you can split the two halves of the outer case by inserting a thin blade screwdriver between them and twisting. Once the outer cover is removed, the screws holding the other half down are right there.

Disclaimer: don't forget to unplug this before attempting!

Thanks for the help mark,

I could remove the other side wall on the stand, but its calked in nice and I figured it would just be easyer this way...

Thats a good idea about setting the sump on something. I'll see if I can find anything...but then again, durring a water change, I could always lift it up also.
