hermit crabs starving

Could someone please tell me what I can use to feed hermit crabs (scarlet ones (herbivores)? I am out of algae and don't want them to die. I was going to get some algae type food but was not sure. I love the little guys.

Actually they will eat detritus and other waste that accumulates in your tank. Therefore, they probably won't starve.

Dont think of feeding them till they start to eat each other...
They will do just fine, you have lots of stuff for them to eat in that tank.
