My guess in the CA is way too low, however I do not think this should kill the SPS overnite.

Can you have too much CA in a tank? I really need a Ca test. If any one has an extra i would love to take it off you at the meeting.

How big is your tank? the difference in your readings and mine are
Ca = 450-500
N03= 0
P04= 0.006 - 0.010
You didn't post temp mines 77.8 deg and I do 10% a week in waterchange using real ocean water. I think some of your test are a little high but not to kill them.How are you acumatting them?

Yes you can. It lowers your ph and alk. It wouldn't be beneficial to have 420+ although it wont hurt. I just can't understand why Clownutz sps turns white overnight? Clownutz what are you running for light? Can you give me a little detail in your setup.

86? I don't keep SPS but that seems pretty high to me, and they are very sensitive to temp.

What's your alkalinity? Your PO4 is a little high, but shouldn't necessarily be toxic. If your alk is way out of whack, that could cause your SPS to not do well. Your Ca is low, but IIRC, Dwayne would run his around 250, so I don't think that would do it. Regardless, you should at least try to bring it up to around NSW levels.

I'm no expert but I would think it's NO3 or salinity. What do you use to check salinity? Mine was way high when I got ahold of a refractometer to check it.

Agreed mine was about .03 off reading with the hydrometer. A refractometer will give you a much more accurate reading.
