help


i think that my corals are dying i just bought a tank that had a few coral and i think that they are dying please help and any suggestions on how to move a very very big carpet anemione sorry my spelling isn't very good

Welcome to TRT.Let us know more!How long has the tank been set up?How big?what type of lighting?what are your water parimeters?Did the carpet come with the tank?

to answer ur question its a pc 10000 65w and actinic 65w a couple of year the guy told me

Well IMO I believe you don't have enough lighting to keep the carpet and possilby the other corals. Anemones are usually better kept after having a tank setup for at least a year or longer and having some experience under your belt.

Water parameters and such are critical also for your corals and fish (if have any). The more you can tell us the more we can help you quicker.

the guy that i bought it from had all the stuff in the tank when i bought it so everything that was there and grew very will i lost a mated pair of clowns and i dont have any fish the corals were bought online about 2 years ago and were about 2 or 3 in and now are about 6 to 8 in so they lived that long y would they die now and the Anemone was very small also and he is doing fine i just want to move him to a different spot because he is on the side of the tank and i want him in front

when you stir up a sand bed you can cause a mini cycle, or in some cases a major cycle. How much live rock is in the system? Did you take everything when you moved the tank, ie. water, sandbed?

Also, even if you do move the anemone, he will probably just move back. Just remember that if you tear the anemone's foot trying to move him he will be toast. The best thing to do is get him to move on his own, and then put him where you want him and hope that he doesnt move. I would point a powerfull powerhead right at him, that might piss him off enough to make him move.

i tried that he just got about 2in around and i think that i will just leave him there because i dont want to kill him and my corals seem to be sheding is that normal or are they dieing on me they look ok but they are losing a thin layer

yes i took every thing all the water and everything and about 75 pounds of live rock and lots of sand and the filter and the light and the skimmer
