oh boy I got a 55g that means I qualify!!! Right and that is how some people will react You would think that he would be more cautious on to where they go, but I am sure he doesn't care

I know! Can you imagine 30 inches of fish in a 50 gallon tank? It boggles my mind. Could they even turn around?

I would have to say an inch on an eel is different than an inch of fish when it comes down to it. I have a 16" eel in a 65 and it has a ton of room. These eels are much skinnier when small than you probably think. Will they be ok in a 50 gallon in a year...probably not, but right now I am sure it would be fine for a while. Obviously it would be great to have them in a larger tank, but I am sure this pair would be comfortable for a while.

Eels are a lot different when it comes down to swimming room. I had an 18" snowflake (in the same 65 Smeese has now ) and there was plenty of room. I was going to get a zebra moray for my 120, but they were out of stock, I will have 2 snowflakes in the 120 instead. Can't wait for them to come!!!! Be here by Wednesday.....

Well I have learned a lesson today. Glad they will be O.K. in a 50G. Hard to believe, but you all know best! Thanks again!

You are correct really, but for what I would like to see it in which is bigger than 50 gallons, but at a minimum I would say a four foot tank. Everything is kind of a general rule of thumb, but I am sure somewhere out there people keep them in smaller tanks yet.
