hate that xenia smell

Tonight I got out the razor blade! Cutting Xenia off rocks! This is pom pom xenia! Did not think it was supposed to grew this fast! Anyhow, i just threw it in the 10gallon miscellaneous tank. Hopefully, it will find a place and grow, if not, well then so be it! Also cut off a 5" square piece of finger leather and threw that in the 10 gallon. Anybody want any of this stuff if it is still around for the meeting? I also have a medium size brown montipora digitata if anyone wants it. Multiple branches. Got it as a freebie in a coral order and well, it has outlived it's tank space!

I thought you got a digital camera ?

i wouldnt mind another finger, as long it was 'different' than mine.

just bring it - someone WILL Take it, just that it might not be me if its a typical one that I already have.

I ll trade ya a frag of this

if its not the same types I already have.

I'm still growing out the frag, its gretting a bit large, I might have to frag the frag shortly.

Imagine a large round digitata colony but as a leather. The fingers are bigger than the one you have pictured. I have several digital cameras but the lights are out!

Have you ever tasted xenia ?

Agu had zenia juice on his hands once and it got on his tongue and/or lip.

He said it has a numbing effect like novicane.......

Xenia Smell

Dave thats really gross about Agu!

BTW did anyone see the thread about using stainless steel to "rub" the smell off? Apparently its used in the cooking industry for garlic.

I've never tried xenia, but I have eaten some bubble algae. Intentionally even... It's not bad either. It has a nice tart taste to it. I dared my wife & kids to try it, and they did! They didn't like it as well as me though...

You think xenia smells bad, it tasts horrible !!!

I was propagating xenia frags and decided to use my "clean" hand and teeth to stretch the rubberband, Big mistake. To say xenia tastes worse than three day old barf would be an understatement (not that I've tasted three day old barf). My mouth went numb, it started in one spot and spread to 2/3 of my lips in about an hour. I was about ready to go to the emergency room when the numbing started to subside. It was about a three hour ordeal, and one that I don't care to repeat.

Be careful,

Agu

LOVE THAT SMELL

Brought a large cooler full to the Baltimore MACNA. It did not travel well you could smell from 20' away. To busy setting up the booth so it just sat for 3-4 hrs and fermented--this was after a 20 hour drive. The smell thru the cooler was horrid, then when it was time to dump it the only place was the restroom half a hotel away, over spilled on the toilet....whoops!!! At least the smell was in the right place. The cooler still smells bad.
