good friday bad friday
well today i got some good news!! but with good always comes some bad. The doctor called and said that after a 3 month stay in the hospital our premature daughter is going to be coming home next week! The due date was sept 20th and she was born on june 5th. The bad news is I wont have the 125 running by then like I was hoping. oh well when the money isnt there you cant do anything about it. The really bad news is that due to some respiratory and lung problems my daughter could be facing the doctor recomended that we part with any hairy dander causing animals we may have so we have to find homes for an 8 week old puppy we got that is a black lab x and a 1 year old lab mastiff x (all black) thats like 70-80 lbs and still growing. Its a sad day but I have to put my daughters health before any animals. So if anybody out there knows of a possible home for one of these great dogs please let me know.

Well congrats on getting her on her way home!!! My son was also due on Sept 20th but was born on July 17th. That funny thing is our children have the same birthday as my mother Anyway.... I know it is a hard thing to deal with when your child is in the NICU, for months no less. I think if my son would have been in there another day I woulda cracked!!! It is hard to see them in the little incubators... then they get out and they tell you they still have to stay Then they start administering tests... tests such as breathing tests and such... Then they tell you that they have been doing so good etc... that all they have to do is pass this breathing test and they can come home... then they don't pass.... Very hard thing to go through. You want your newborn child to come home so that you can spend good quality time doing what other people or even yourself maybe got to do with other chidren and you can't. For the moms it is especially hard because in many cases they take their materinity leave and then have to go back to work before the baby is gets to come home But anyway all of that is coming to an end and your family life is going to get better for you, mom, & baby
Ohh.... as far as the tank what do you still need to get it going??

yeah, thats what happened to my wife used up all of her time off and now the baby cant go to daycare for months yet, maybe even a year. she went to quit to get a night job so they gave her a laptop and told her to work from home. so its all good i guess. as far as tank i need just about everything. im gonna use my old 55 for a fuge so if anybody wants to trade something for a diy 55 gal hood with a workhorse 7 ballast and 2 50/50 vho lemme know. im working on getting a mag 7 for my skimmer and some powerheads so i can start curing rock while i make my overflows and drill the tank. im hoping to have enough money in the next couple weeks to pick up a retro 2 x 250 halide setup. ---scott

IMO, the good news way outweighs the bad news! As another parent who had a baby in the hospital for many months, I know you will be very happy when she comes home!

Scott- what size bulk heads are you looking to put in it? I want to drill a few more holes in a couple tanks so I would be interested in splitting the bit price.

im thinking 1 or 1 1/2. I only want like 1200-1500 gals per hr max going through the fuge so im not sure which would be the best. i havent done the math on bulkheads vs gph in a while. ive been outta the loop too long i guess.

My email is erasphalt@mncable.net unless you send the pics to jer and he posts them! What's his name, you answered the snipped question, does he get along with other dogs pretty well (a friend has a yellow lab male and they get along great!), and he's crossed with a lab? Thanks again Best of luck with your daughter.Sounds like a tough situation. Everything will come together though
