King_kong I'm in Anoka. What are you looking to do, get a refugium or convert your tidepools?

Do you have bio-balls in the pools? If so start by removing one each day from each one.

Not intending to hijack this thread but my question kinda goes well with teh topic.

What do you all put in your fuges and what are the benefits of each item ?

I just hooked up mine last night. Threw in a bunch of small rock pieces that I had in my sump and a nice chunk of chaeto that Derek gave me wednesday night.
I have seen Mangroves, sand and certain critters in some fuges but can't remember what they were.

Does anyone know where I can get mangroves here in the cities ?

Btw: Fuge light is on 24/7 right now to see what all comes out of it

Thats gonna take forever.
I removed mine, a 5 gallon bucketfull, in 2 scoops in 2 weeks. Prolly didn't need to do that... I didn't personally see a problem with removing them quickly. The sand and rocks hold so much more bacteria than bioballs, that the balls were useless from day one.

King_kong if you want to talk about your fuge more or less I'm at work tomorrow from 8-4pm. I work at Petsmart in Coon Rapids, not the Petco next door. Plus if you come in and ask for me, I can talk to people and eat up time.
