FS Hamilton Tech light 2x250MH 4x55PC
I am loking to get rid of my old light fixture. It is a Hamilton Technology 4 foot deluxe light.
The light is only 1 year old, and works great. It comes with the fixture and ballast for the MH's. The Ballasts for the PC is NOT included and costs 69.00 ea from Hamilton, 2 are needed.
Original cost for the light was 900.00. The bulbs have been used for about a year.

Would this be far too much light for a 55 long. I want to retire my PCs but wonder about burning my corals with 250 Watt bulbs. Would lower watt halides work in the ballast? Would that compromise their efficinecy or lifespan? I'm a halide newbie, but definitely appreciate the necesity. Help!

If for some reason polskp does not end up taking it, I'd like it.

pole-ski-p or whatever it is pete-
that would be a killer setup for a 55 or a 75 definitely not too much!

MY thoughts exactly.... then SPS will slowly creep in, and dominate... *evil laugh*

"then SPS will slowly creep in, and dominate"
This is not as crazy as some might think. When first starting out with my first reef tank with tiny frags, I was not even certain the corals would grow. Then before I knew it the tank was in danger of being filled with a solid mass of stony corals, with no room for fish, no water flow, etc. I'm exaggerating here a bit of course, but not as much as one might think....an amazing proportion of the tank volume was in fact filled with SPS corals before some *major* pruning (which the tank has not yet recovered from appearance-wise).

Why is the PM so complicated.... I found that I had been deleting PMs left and right, but alas found that it saves every message sent, and tracks all messages... That's a little much.
PM box now empty.
