FS: Dolphon Aquasea 2700gph pump

$70 obo. Locals only. I will not ship. When new pump was $249, pump not longer made as was replaced by the Ampmaster 3000.

If interested I can bring to the next meeting in Feb. If not planning to attend or want it sooner you have to come pick it up.

I will guarantee it works. Plastic screws marked up a little when I took off housing to get a theremeter that was stuck ( Thankfully not broken ). A little bit of rust on the bottom mounting bracket from normal use.

It uses the same 1.5" union fittings as the Ampmaster 3000. Since uses same fittings can be used as a backup for an Ampmaster 3000 or if planning to buy a Ampmaster 3000 can use this pump in the interim. Great for return pump or closed loops.

Reason: Used as a return pump on my 190g in-wall tank for 1.5 years. I went with a smaller pump for my new setup. When I used it, I did put it on a watt meter and only used 145w. Because of different head based on your plumbing you may or may not see same watt usage.

David, How do you think it compares to an Iwaki MD-70? What do you think the wattage difference will be? I would be interested depending on how they compare, and maybe keep it for a back up. I tend to have a tough time with return pumps.

I am pretty sure the Iwaki uses different fittings so not easily interchangeable when it comes to plumbing.

Iwaki can be used more for pressure situations like skimmers etc. that the Dolphin would not be well suited for.

I am quite sure that this pump uses less electricity than the Iwaki.

This would work very well in a closed loop type configuration.
