Found a new Bible!!!

This might be a little premature because I have not read the entire book. But I have to rant and rave becasue I love it so much already. I have read almost every book about keeping reef tanks and this is the best one. It is the perfect mix of science and practical explanations on how to do things.

The Reef Aquarium - Science, Art, and Technology - Volume 3
J. Charles Delbeek and Julian Sprung

This book is brand new and took me a couple of weeks to get it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I would agree...this book is really great! I also bought it about 1 week ago and I am nearly done already. It is a great book, especially people new to the hobby. It lists many different techniques, the advantages of the techniques and also the drawbacks so that the reefer can decide which technique is best for their application. Marine Depot also has a reasonable price for it ~$80. Its worth its weight in gold!

Would you (or anyone else) recommend that I read vol. 1 & 2 before taking up vol. 3? I'm currently focused on softies and LPS so I'm thinking that vol. 2 would be an excellent resource for my tank.

I will be at the MN aquarium society aucton before leaving for smeese. If somebody needs one and is NOT going to Mankato, we can meet there.

Sleeri, 1 & 2 have been out for probably 10 years now. Material may have some value but I'm sure there are many dated aspects to them. Not sure I would spend the cover price.
