float switch recommendations

Hi Everyone,
My next project is an auto topoff system and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable float switch that they have had experience with. As always Im looking for low cost, high reliability, if there is such a thing in this hobby.

Thanks in advance,
Ken

I have some of the Grainger 2A554 in stock, would you like me to bring them to the meeting? $15

IMO: The most reliable switches are the ones that work on vaccum vs. moving parts....... Downside is they aren't quite as sensitive to level changes.

I would avoid float switches if at all possible. If you insist, make sure you have redundancy built in the system.

I (and the 30 gallons of topoff water that went into my stand 8 months back) second what Dave says. If you're using the electrical switch, make sure you have redundancy.

That is exactly why I use a 5 gallon bucket as my reservoir, enough for a couple of days, but still not enough to overflow the sump.
