Fish Thoughts for a Reef...

This is probually a fairly common question... But, how many fish in a reef tank is acceptable?

I would like to add the following but am wondering what others think before doing so.

Sailfin Tang (Red Sea),
Kole Tang or Blue Spotted Kole Tang,
Powder Brown Tang,
Blonde Nazo Tang,
6 line Wrasse (already have),
2 Percs

I like the Chevron tang also, but will not be able to get it at this time.

Some info on your system would help. Total gallons, type of skimmer, water change schedule, ect.?

That's a lotta tangs! You might have territory problems, so make sure there is plenty of structure and open space to swim.

Salty125gal - Yes, it is a 150

clownfishcrazy - Water changes ~20gal every other week, and skimmer is a reefmania 8" with a sedra 5000.

Sailfin and Naso both get really large. I personally would ditch both from the list. At minimum ditch one or the other.

Brown, Brown, Brown, and Gray?
they are all great fish, but:
I like more color in my tangs.........I have a hippo, purple, and a Pyro in my 120.
all are happy for now, but two will go to new home soon.
My hippo is 7"+ and will need more room soon.......

I've got a yellow and a sailfin in my 150, and am about to remove them. Apparently it isn't big enough, they spend a lot of time cruising the glass, and are nipping the lps. I've tried increasing feed, until I got concerned with nutrient buildup. I'm going to replace them with small fish, non-nippers, if there is such a thing.

OK, so how about...

Kole Tang
Chevron Tang
Blue Tang

Also, not sure how long it will help, but I plan on getting all the fish rather small, 2-3" total.

Is this a good representation of a sailfin tang?

Also, I am looking for peaceful tangs, not aggressive tangs. So my options are limited....

Add the purple as the last thing in the tank. That helps
