I started out with a 75g african cichlid tank 4 years ago (still love it) then a nano, then bought a 45g salt water fish only and a 100g salt water with fish and mostly softies, a few lps, sps. I really would like to turn the 100g into a cichlid tank and get a tank like jerry's. I can't even imagine that 1700g what an amazing tank. It reminds me of the tank at the minnesota zoo only with live coral.

One thing that is missing is the freshwater equivalent of Stan....the 50 or 100 tank fish room (or separate fish building!) for breeding. I know folks like that (heck, I've been up to about 35 tanks or more totaling 600 or 700 gallons myself in the past).
And then there are the folks who have bred 200 or 300 species of fish (maybe including at least 100 or 200 species of, say, characins!) in a decade or so.
And the killifish people...with dozens and dozens of small tanks, plastic shoeboxes, etc.
And angelfish people. (I was an angelfish and killifish person myself).
And the discus people.
And.....

Fastfish...
A giant Amazon tank like that would be darn cool. I've wanted to do a huge Amazon tank for a long time. Probably never will, but boy would it be cool.

They had some of the fish in a pond system, which included peacock bass, massive catfish, I think a 3-4' clown knife. They also had foot long kissing gouramis and some other commons that you could find at the petstore. I couldn't ID most of the otherfish from top down, but they were good size.

All of those fish would be cool, but actually, I was imagining a school of angelfish, schools of hatchetfish, tetras, corydoras, etc. A big school of hatchetfish alone would probably be worth it!

When I was a kid we had 4 red bellied piranha for a while. They did well and grew.
Then one day we had 3.5, and the next day just 3.
Then a few months later we had 2.5, and the next day 2.
Then we had 2 for a long time.
They were probably the most skittish, easily paniced fish I have ever kept.

I remember buying three after going to the movie theatre to see The Excorist (about 1975). I also remember them biting through the bag on the way home! But for the most part Bill is right they were way too skittish once into the tank.
