Euro-Reef ES5-3 Skimmer-SOLD!
I have an ES5-3 on my system now (used <4 mo) and it's overkill (although in great shape). If anyone has a ES5-2 and would like to trade up to the ES5-3 (4" taller rxn chamber) let me know. Or if you're planning to pick up a ES5-3 I'd be happy to sell for cash towards a new ES5-2. Thanks!
tg
here's a picture of the unit in september...(i'm getting some mileage out of this pic )
its sitting in the sump-front left

and here it is in action curing rock back in september-it had been on vat about a day when pic was taken!
(*if you aren't familiar with these skimmers they are rated by the manufacturer to 90g-i think 75 more conservatively, the ES5-2 to 75g, although its probably more appropriate for a 55ish-includes pump)

greg-i guess you would know!
(the man with 6! bananas in his sig likes overkill)
in this case overkill is too tall and makes accessing that fancy "muffler" box in my sump a PITA!

I am looking to setup a 58g with 55g refugium/sump, and that is just bout perfect. I have the fuge/sump made already, and I had a EuroReef in mind when designing.
How much are you asking for it?
Joe

I gotta agree with Greg here. Plus, you never know when the tank will be upgraded to v3.0!

tg, a quick question
what is it that you th ink is overkill
I have an es5-2 on my 40BR and my original plan was to go with an es5-3, however I was able to get my hands on an es5-2 sooner
how tall is the es5-3...I may be interested in trade, mine's only 4 months old

basically when i say overkill its because the ES5-2 would have been more than enough for my system. i think ER gives a very conservative (read realistic) estimate of each skimmer's capabilities. i'm sure the 5-3 does in fact skim a lil better and like the breathing room it would give in that regard but i also am tired of knocking everything in the sump over when i clean my prefilter. and chad's right the 5-3 is 4" taller (otherwise identical). i'll move the business chat to pm!

i think i have responded to everyone who contacted me whether it be through pm or email-or here.
i would prefer to sell (as opposed to trade)
Jive Turkey has first dibs. If he passes next in order is:
#2 tommy
#3 mrbeachbum2
#4 druddick (sorry if i blew the spelling)
latazyo-i think you understand my preference to sell-if these deals fall through i'll let you know. otherwise you should be set with the ES5-2 on your 40g.
thanks all-
tg
