By the time you account for the multiple revisions of your project and the time, honesly your better off just getting one. For the money and performance ( for a tank up to 90g ) a turboflotor sump version is pretty tough to beat you can find them used quite often, you want one with a
ocean runner pump prefered over the rio. There are lots of better skimmers but be prepared to spend $300+ for those.
