I talked to him today. He says he has a lot of corals in his tanks, he might have to do a fire sale I don't think he has gotten anything in the past 2 weeks though

BABY KILLER!!!!
You killed one of my babies.....I guess the frogspawn cuttings are not indestructable. I did get 2 boxes of corals in 2 weeks ago, there are lots of nice LPS/SPS left. My schedule is open let me know, DIRK ----there are not any fires HERE!!!!!!

I figured that the Dirk's frogspawn must have been indestructable since I was able to keep it alive for almost a month now . I put it in the sand (but shouldn't have taken the base tube off) and it keeps getting kicked around by the hermit crabs. It even has 2 little heads growing out on the bottom now.
Dirk, can I just peel the plastic cap off and superglue it onto a rock? I don't know how much glue you use and afraid I'll damage it by handling it to peel it off the cap.
mnreefman, I usually have my alk at 3.0 mg/L but it did dip down to 2.5 mg/L before. Ca is usually above 400 but it was at low 300 at one point too. Unless your alk is really low, I don't think that it would kill the frogspawn. Maybe your salinity is quite different than Dirk's tank? Mine is at 36ppt (even before getting the refractometer, just guess right with the cheapo floating hydrometer) and I didn't acclimate the frogspawn that long. I'd guess Dirk has his tank around 36ppt too (didn't have the nifty refractometer when I got the frogspawn so I didn't check Dirk's water).

Dirk, Do you have any plans of updating the pics on the website before the meeting on the 13th. I could be in the market for one to bring to the meeting if I could see what you have without taking a hour drive.......

PICS
The last pictures did not turn out very good, sorry and been too busy to update. With the 20k's affecting colors on camera's I'm not sure I would put much validity on what the picture shows vs actual colors. The filters/quality of the digital cameras is off my comprehension scale. We'll just have to work on it better.
I can say that there are quite a few nice acro's still available!!!! Are there any digital camera's out there that some has upgraded from??? It is not to often that I'm looking for something for trade bait....
Also just looked at one of my frogspawn babies, along the vial where the calcerous base is growing , another baby is coming out along that base.

Uh oh, I just screwed up. Was trying to remove the frogspawn frag from the plastic cap and all I did was cause the frag to slime, scrape the body in a couple spots, and even cause a tiny chip. Now I know why they call superglue 'super'.
If it survives the abuse, then Dirk's frogspawn is pretty darn close to indestructable. Only time will tell but I'm praying for the little guy's life. I certainly don't want to be known as a BABY KILLER.
Edit for grammar. Oops, forgot some z's and have too many punctuation marks.

Two days after the abuse, the indestructible frogspawn frag is fully open again as if nothing has happened to it 2 nights before.
So if anyone is cycling a tank, drop by Dirk and pick up a frag.
