Question

DC Converter queston

I have my fans in my canopy running off of a 12v 400mA converter and when they come on it sounds like an airplane taking off very loud. I have a 9v 210 mA would it work to quite it down.

Do you have any specifications for the fans? Like CFM, dBA, mA.

All will be useful in figuring out your problem and the solution. Otherwise, there is no way of knowing whether a smaller inverter will work.

Only way your really going to quiet it down it to run slower. So yes probably can quiet it, but may not meet your cooling needs.

Silenx fans are a good brand just be sure to note the CFM of the fan has some can be quite low to get the noise down.....
