D/I resin

I keep forgetting to mention, just changed my r/o filters out. the resin most of us use from resin depot separates while in the cartridge. Curious to see if this is happening for everyone. Does anyone know which resin is dark and which is the cream/slightly yellow colored, cation/anion. The only thing I remember about resins is if used separately one is supposed to used before the other for the best/proper filtration. Assuming this is a common occurence is this stuff separating in the right order?? Does it matter?

I would just mix it up well before refilling the cartridges...it then does tend to reseparate in the cartridge, and I couldn't imagine making it be able to reseparate the other way. But given my tds is 0, I guess i'm not complaining.

There was a RC thread years ago where the Resin Depot guy replied to that recommended running the DI resin backwards to what most RO/DI run them. Instead of water going from bottom up to have it go top down. This is to help with the seperation.

If it really makes a major difference or it splitting hairs I don't really know......but figured since he's in the business it couldn't hurt....
