Controllers

I am looking at controllers for my new system and am left questioning what the differnece is between the AquaController II and the ReefKeeper II. I don't ever see a need for an ORP probe, so I am not taking that into consideration. The AquaController is quite a bit more and am wondering if anyone can justify the extra cost for me.

Thanks.

I do like the ORP monitor I kind of call it my "general health" reading. I have an RK1 and have never used an AC. Go for the RK for the price, it does a lot of stuff.

I switched from the RK to the aquacontroller just for flexibility. It does so much more than the reefkeeper. Monitors and controls ORP,PH,Temp, pumps anything you can think of, can page you if something goes out of wack, can graph your params. The nice thing is it can control up to 20 different things. I am pleased I spent the extra moeny for the aquacontroller in the end. It is the lifeline of my system IMO.

Aquacontoller is so much more versatile. While the Reefkeeper II is definately moving in the right direction, your still limited by what the software can do. The Aquacontoller you can program yourself. I do like my RK orginal for what I need but it really sucks that it can't be upgraded and forced to spend another $270 for the II. Hmmm, makes you wonder if RK II would be obsolete too once for the III. You could go broke trying to keep up.

Aquacontroller also has the aquacontroller junior to compete with the reefkeeper.
