clownfish jumping?


Is it common that my occelaris clown jumped to its doom last night?
I didnt think clowns did that

common for any fish if other fish are harassing them . if not then no.

I have heard that moonlights wills stop many from doing it at night.

All fish can jump some are more prone to jumping than others however. Most clowns are not known for jumping but it is not out of the realm.

I had a percula(had 6months) jump out one night when I someone left the lid open.

I had a long nose hawkfish chase my occelaris clown aroud the tank till he jumped in the overflow and died on the filter pad. he was just a inch or less. and ya it was at night

I have noticed at night everyone goes to sleep including my Tomato clown but the P. clowns stay out pretty much all night swimming around. They seem to stay around the areas the moonlights shine on.

Yes, mine jumped out when he was being harrassed by my six line. I found him lifeless on the floor. I put him back in and he miraculously recovered. I must have found him quick enough.

I recently added a spotted Hawkfish to the tank. Thats what probably did him in.
