Clean Algae Inside Protein Skimmer

Is anyone know a good way to clean algae inside protein skimmer?

Algae itself shouldn't cause issues as long as it isn't clogging up intake or output areas......

I usually give a good cleaning every 6-12 months.
Dunk the skimmer in a solution of 50/50 of distilled white vinegar and water overnight. This will get most of the gunk out. If still need to wipe it down then use brushes for the rest.....
