Clam tank and stand for sale.

First off, I realize I don't post much in this forum so I don't have too many credentials established. You can do a search on me (username: Travis) at reefcentral and you should find plenty of feedback from other people I've sold to.

Here is what I have for sale:

-40 gallon clam tank with 45 degree viewing pane and center trapezoid internal overflow with 1.5" bulkhead drain. The return is a 1" bulkhead in the bottom of the tank right in front of the overflow. I chose this location so it is concealed. If you are too paranoid to use check valves (I've never had problems with them and also use them on my 280) you can cap the bulkhead with a plug and make a different return. For those who don't know, clams are meant to be viewed from the top as this is how they look the most vibrant and show their true colors. That is why this tank has a 45 degree viewing pane.
-custom made black powder coated steel stand (made with 1"x2" steel tube)

tank and stand (must be sold together) - $150

********I just edited this first post to reflect the new price***********

I forgot to add that I really don't want to ship the tank and stand, unless I absolutely have to. I would be willing to meet anyone from the twin cities area half way for the price of gas. That would be about a 2 hour drive for each of us. It would save the buyer money compared to shipping.

Let's see if I can get some pics uploaded... Please be patient with me as this is my first try at uploading pics in this forum.

Well that was easy. Here are some pics of the clams taken from the top. If you compare the pics of the striped derase from the top and side you will notice that the rim is much more vibrant from the top. This difference is the most pronounced with the crocea but my camera won't pick up the true colors of the crocea. It is a deep blue fromt the side and a glowing aquamarine from the top.

That's a pretty slick setup. Bet that would make a cool mini reef tank too.

guys i can vouch for Travis. he is a good buddy of mine and lives about 58miles away. he has helped me out many times and hooked me up w/ some sweet items

if my wife would have been working for more than 2 days since may (graduation) i would buy this set up. she isn't wild on the idea an di am STILL trying to talk her into it

hmm...Travis you want to deliver the tank and visit some of the SPS freaks in MN???

Wow, this forum moves along pretty quickly.

Clownnut, I would have to agree, probably not worth the drive or shipping just for 1 clam. Wish I lived closer to the cities because the LFS's suck here and other hobbyists far and few between.

Skipponator, good point. It would especially make for a cool sps tank as sps also often look better from the top.

Lunchbucket, who are you? I've never heard of a Lunchbucket before? j/k of course. Thanks for the props. I would love to tour some tanks up that way some time.

That is a sweet tank and if I wasn't in the middle of setting up another tank I would jump on it.

hmmmm...and what would that be?

Travis, our posts frequently go off topic, but we usually solve the issue at hand.

If anyone is thinking about getting this setup I'd be willing to help get it up here as long as I can get the crocea out of the deal.

Travis, would you be willing to meet in Fairmont ?

PS; There you have it Derek, back on topic

Wolfgang, I'll undercut you. If someone wanted the setup, I'd meet Travis halfway, and do it for the 9" Dersea!

If that works then I would be interested in the 6 inch Dersea if clownut doesn't take it and the person going would be interested in picking it up and I would pay for some gas also.
