Without any info as to what your current tank temps reach in summer time and the required pull down, no way to know what you need.
If your already hitting 84+ and need to get it down say 4+ degrees consistantly then your going need a much bigger one. However, if you tank temps are well within range without a chiller and you want/need for that emergency day or two where it may get above 84ish then it may work. I suspect though 1/4 isn't going to really pull down your tank temps much at all but may help keep the temps at bay or from climbing quickly/steadily.
Me personally, I more of a believer in not relying on a chiller for day to day operation. I think a controller that is capable of turning off lights when temps reach a certain point is a better option for those really hot days every so often. But if your constantly hitter the high temp during summer then your going to need it or rework your tank config.
If you house is equiped with central air and you do plan to use it, being smart with getting the most gph out of your pumps with as little heat/wattage as possible ( also being careful not to use submersable pumps ), plus fans with good canopy/fixture ventalation you should be able to do without a chiller or worst case just as an emergency piece of equipment.
