That's what I had to do when upgrading from a 190g to 320g tank. It was a nightmare and if ever upgrade or change again the new tank cannot go in the same spot as the old. In my case to do the whole thing I worked around the clock and took a total of 6 days before the whole move was done. Six days all corals in holding tanks without lights took it toll. I didn't really loose much but had severe bleaching when I fired up the lights on the new tank.
However, Since this is a much smaller scale it is very doable.
What I would do is get a temp. holding tank for the livestock. Remove rock and water. Hopefully manageable enough not to have to remove the sandbed. (This is where all this nightmare work for me was ). Move to existing tank to a new location. set it all back up and put livestock back in.
Now you have plenty of time to get the new tank up and running without have all your inhabintants in temp quarters where the clock is ticking.
PS: Sorry I haven't gotten over there like I said I would.
