Change of plans, going FO to reef ?'s

Well when I set up my new 75 I was planning on doing a FO tank, but now I have the reef buzz and I can't stop at just fish. My current setup consists of:

75 gallon AGA RR
30 Gallon Sump
75# of base rock
(3) MJ 900 powerheads
ASM G3 Skimmer
Quiet One 4000 return pump
2" DSB
Orbit 4x65W PC lighting

My question is what other equipment do I need to have a pretty well running reef tank. I will be swapping out the base rock in favor of live rock in the next month and will be curing it in a seperate container. I will also be putting together a closed loop system with a mag 7 pump for added circulation. I am adding Kent Marine Coral Vite for supplements and that's about it right now. Currently I don't have the $ to upgrade my lighting and was planning on doing a SPS tank until I learn more about reefkeeping. So what other supplements and equipment would I need to add to help the tank thrive? BTW, I do plan on getting an RO/DI unit soon too.

Equipment is good enough for a reef setup. Just check your water parameter. If you need corals I can help, I need to get rid of a few Xenia

I forgot, maybe a heater would help. Just do water changes more often. Tank size isn't really big and water changes of about 10% a week can really show improvement.

Do I really, really need a calcium reactor or will dosing with supplements be enough? Are you planning on going to the next meeting, I wouldn't mind taking some xenia How big?

Depends on what you plan on keeping if you are looking at heavy sps than you will want to consider it, if you plan on softies and lps then dripping kalk will be sufficient.

You can do it much easier then that. Just take a 1 gallon jug of RO/DI water, add about 1 tsb of kalk, mix/shake it up, let it sit for a few minutes then use airline tubing, start a siphon, and let it drip into the tank. You can tie a knot in the tubing to slow down the drip, Best to time it so it takes about 2-3 hours to drian the gallon. Use this for all your top-off water.
