Can it really be?

Red Bugs...

I've never seen them before. The attachments should be larger in size for a closer look

I will need some, what is the recomended procedure for treating them? It's 150-170 gallons of water....

I do not have any fish in the tank, just corals, snails and a few crabs...

Here is the link I followed to treat them. Works great allthough you will lose all crabs and some shrimp. I lost all crabs and peppermint shrimp. Cleaners were hit and miss some lived some kacked, and you could tell they were noticeably upset by the treatment as they would swim around as if they were loaded. My Coral banded made it through about 6 treatments and never skipped a beat.

Kevin, don't feel bad at least now there is a treatment.

If I were a bettin' man i'd say 90% of tanks with acropora still have them despite having treated before. If you are not proactively treating/quaratining EVERY acropora before putting in the show tank them likely still have them or at high risk of reoccurring. That's why I believe the number of tank infected is still very high. No LFS are 100% bug free simply too much turnover and outside of a few select people rarely does quarantining and proactively treating every coral actually occur ( myself included ).

I couldn't agree any more than you. Expecially with the turnover they have in stores.

I'm not sure how fast they can reproduce, but, I'm guessing I may have had them for quite some time. Part of this is me not knowing exactly what to look for. I just happen to see a red spot on a very light colored coral. After looking at some additional corals, I've seen lots more. They really stand out.

After 30 min some of the leftover crabs have bit the dust. I was able to pull out 3 crabs minutes after adding the interceptor.

Kudos for trying to save the crabs! They are cute and worth the effort, IMO.

Agree, It's been an hour, and I'm pretty sure all crabs are dead!

Also, I cannot believe the amount of pods floating around now. There seems to be hundreds of them...
