Not readly available locally. ABS is black but generally only in the larger sizes.
Generally will get covered with coraline in a short amount of time anyways so long term really doesn't matter.

Could always primer the entire peices that you want to camoflauge as well. The purple primer looks nice and blends in a little better then the white. But like David said, it shouldn't be long till they are all covered in coraline anway...

You can use a Sharpie permanant marker to color it black. Some that have done it have said that running it thru the disher gets rid of the smell, but isn't necessary.
IME, black surfaces seem to grow coralline significantly faster as well.

I would ask Greg. I think he gets his stuff from Indelco, but I may be wrong there. Wouldn't be the first time

Schedule 80 comes in grey. I believe black is only in available in larger sizes. Indelco is one local source, they are in St. Louis Park. It is not a store front like a hardware store but consumers can buy items there. Savko.com is another source for schedule 80 fittings and pipe. Greg may have some other options but I know those places are good.

So may I ask,
Even in out of the water applications why does it matter if white or black ? Generally nobody sees the plumbing anyways....I can't think of any type of application on the hobbiest scale where you would need anything to handle any higher pressures....

Pressure is not the issue and never was, just looks. Since we all thrive to make our tanks look as good as we can this is a very valid question.
I personally don't like white PVC pipe either. White pipe has a "cheap" look to it. Grey is definetly better and black looks just "richer".
At the end of the day it is just up to your own taste

at the end of the day...david had one of the nicest tanks i've ever seen, regardless of pvc color, that's all i know! when you've got a sweet tank like that who even notices it! (granted it was an in-wall installation )
that said i'm no less vain and i'd prolly go for grey or black too

I thought Greg S. was are only neat freak when it came to plumbing and things people can't see but I guess I'm wrong......
TG, I downsized to a little 58g tank.......but I still have the big hole in the wall ( since July ) yet to be patched back up....I'm just a regular hobbiest now, not a SPS addict ...
